C!SN 8.23.25: Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, Not Your Mama’s Craft Market, Cannonfest 2015, and more!

Story:

Friday, Burke gave me a handmade Bison necklace from an artisan at GLEAN. Timely because Saturday we went to Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, home to a few bison! We love Darby Creek Park, not only because of the trees, creeks, prairies, and bison, but also because of the beautiful Nature Center. Take a drive out to Battelle Darby Creek and spend the day with a picnic and trails which wander through a variety of settings, including John Galbreath's beautiful horse barn and racetrack!

Sunday, Burke and I stopped by the Roosevelt Coffeehouse and spoke with Chelsea Hill of Not Your Mama's Craft Market! This craft market had a pop up on Sunday and we decided to check it out! Listen to the podcast and find out everything Chelsea has planned! Also there was Matt with his company 7THIRTY8 Apparel. Handmade shirts, bags and hats, of his own design, Matt realized he needed to try something new (did he say 'something new?') when he turned 30! Love his story! And, yes, I did get a tote!

From there, we headed to the Arena District for the Cannonfest 2015. Blue Jackets fans are getting ready for the upcoming season, and the restaurant was full of energy! Local Graphic Designer and Illustrator, Ashely Ware, was there with her drawn portraits of Blue Jackets! Imagine being able to combine your love of a team with your artistic talent! That is exactly what Ashley has done! Please take a look at her artwork!
