Columbus! Something New 10.25.15

C!SN 10.25.15: Welcome Coach John Tortorella, Glen Echo Park, Columbus Museum of Art, Not Your Mama’s Craft Market, The Roosevelt Coffeehouse

Story:

This week's show starts with a flashback to our visit this summer to Glen Echo park in Clintonville. As it is the week of Halloween, we thought a good spooky memory would be just the thing! We read the ghost stories and listen to Burke explore the park.

Sunday was the grand opening of the Margaret M. Walter wing of the Columbus Museum of Art! After talking about visiting the museum since we established the podcast in January of this year, we made it! The turnout for the grand opening was amazing, and we only spent a little bit of time there. But, Sundays are free days and we cannot wait to go back.

Not Your Mama's Craft Market was at The Roosevelt Coffeehouse, and we stopped by there to check out the vendors. We met Kenny, an owner of The Roosevelt, and I enjoyed a delicious, smooth iced coffee! The Roosevelt Coffeehouse is a semi-finalist nominee for The Metropreneur’s Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award! The Roosevelt's mission is to strengthen and support organizations who help to ensure clean water, fight hunger, or fight against human trafficking. At the Not Your Mama's Craft Market pop up, was Candle With A Cause. Burke and I, both huge fans of Candle With A Cause, are happy to tell you The Roosevelt and CWAC have connected to make a candle to support the The Roosevelt Coffeehouse's missions. And one of those candles is burning right now here at our home! We were happy to see Mitch, from Candle With A Cause, and add another fantastic candle to our CWAC collection!

Burke and I wrap up the show with a welcome to The Columbus Blue Jacket's new head coach, John Tortorella! We agree, Coach Tortorella is more than the energy filled videos we see flooding facebook and twitter. He is a coach who is passionate about his team! John and Christine Tortorella have a foundation which I would love for you to check out! See the link below!
